When self taping, just be mindful of the white balance, because if the white balance is not set properly, you can find that the footage comes out quite patchy, as the light will fade in and out within the frame. Not only is this very noticeable, the Casting Director will more likely be focused on the patchy footage than your performance. Try turning the auto focus on & off & then run a test or a mock take, before committing to a serious take.
