Even if we don’t understand how a line is meant to be delivered in our casting, never change the dialogue to suit our own logic. Always ask the Casting Director or your agent for further clarity, because the best way to lose a Casting Director’s familiarity is to make decisions without consulting them first. Remember, the Casting Director must present your casting or self tape to the director, and their reputation too is at risk if they can’t explain why the dialogue wasn’t delivered by the talent as it is, in the script. Always stick to the script.
